I have lived in Beijing for seven years. It is an important piece of memory in my life.
I often walk in hutong and visit little shop. When someone say about Beijing’s food the first word out of mouth I think is Beijing Kaoya(Beijing duck). Then how about the others?
Now I will tell you some my loved food.
I eat Douzhi in Yaoji Chaogan. Douzhi is special because nearly everyone says it is smelly but only “pure” Beijing local citizens drink it every morning.
Jiaoquan, likes a doughnut, has special taste too and people often eat it with Douzhi.
Chaogan is made from pork liver, pork intestine and starch, seasoning with garlic, vinegar and soy sauce. It looks bad but is really delicious.
Beijing’s food has a strong image of Islam. Most of them are halal. So everyone can eat them. I cannot help dreaming to have them in my stomach.
